How Veterinary Nurse Consultations Support Your Pet’s Health at Every Stage of Life

When it comes to your pet’s well-being, preventative care and ongoing support can make a world of difference. That’s where Veterinary Nurse Consultations come in.

Our nurses are highly trained professionals who provide practical advice, routine care, and ongoing support to help keep your pet healthy, comfortable, and thriving — from playful puppyhood through to their senior years.

Here’s how a nurse consultation can benefit you and your pet.

Preventative Care: Staying One Step Ahead

Prevention is always better than a cure. Regular nurse consultations allow us to monitor your pet’s health and address small concerns before they become bigger problems.

During a preventative care appointment, we can provide:

  • Weight checks and body condition scoring

  • Tailored nutrition and feeding advice

  • Flea, tick, and worm prevention guidance

  • Dental care advice, including tooth-brushing demonstrations

  • Microchip checks to ensure your details are up to date

These simple checks can have a big impact on your pet’s long-term health.

Giving Puppies & Kittens the Best Start

Bringing home a new pet is exciting — and sometimes a little overwhelming. Our nurse consultations are a great opportunity to ask questions and build confidence as a new pet owner.

We offer:

  • New pet care advice and general guidance

  • Vaccination schedule reminders

  • Socialisation tips

  • Basic training advice

  • Information about neutering

We’re here to support you through those early stages and help set your pet up for a happy, healthy life.

Supporting Adult & Senior Pets

As pets grow older, their needs change. Regular nurse consultations help monitor their health and maintain quality of life.

We can help with:

  • Senior health monitoring

  • Mobility and arthritis support advice

  • Support for long-term conditions (as directed by a veterinary surgeon)

  • Quality of life discussions for ageing pets

Early intervention and regular monitoring are key to keeping senior pets comfortable and active.

Post-Operative & Ongoing Medical Support

After surgery or when managing a medical condition, having the right support makes all the difference.

Our nurses provide:

  • Post-operative check-ups

  • Wound checks

  • Guidance on administering medication

  • Ongoing treatment support, including injections prescribed by a veterinary surgeon (such as Librela®, Cytopoint®, and other long-term therapies)

We’ll ensure you feel confident caring for your pet at home.

Routine Services Made Easy

Some essential services don’t always require a vet appointment. During a nurse consultation, we can also provide:

  • Nail clipping*

  • Anal gland expression*

  • Coat and skin care advice

  • Ear cleaning guidance

*Additional charge applies.
